whew, thanksgiving is over and it was good times - it's one of my favorite times of the year when i get to see so many relatives on both sides of the family.
here is a day by day run through of all the festivities:
Tuesday: we unofficially kicked off thanksgiving by stretching our bellies at my co-worker's house. every year she has a big ol' potluck with friends at her house. it was packed with adults, babies, and kids! the spread was pretty impressive and the beverages flowed all night.
Wednesday: we headed to peculiar to ryan's parent's house for a thankgiving dinner with a few relatives. nothing was overlooked and it was a cozy, relaxing time. hank showed off his cereal eating skills at the dining room table.
Thursday: every thanksgiving day for me has been spent with the Edmonds' side (my dad's siblings/my cousins, etc). it's the one time a year we all get together and i always look forward to catching up. this year my little sis bravely hosted in her roomy house. my brother-in-law did a great job with the turkey! there were about 35 people there and we all left full - though we practically ran out of sides! we never organize what each person will bring so you never know. there were tons and tons of deserts though - who's complaining?!
Friday: the 'off' day. i worked a few hours at the flower shop and ryan hung out w/the babe.
Saturday: on the road to des moines, bright and early, for the 19th annual bumann family reunion. this is my mom's side and she is one of 50+ first cousins. they don't all come of course, but there were around 100 people there this year. we all stay at 'adventureland inn' and everyone eats, swims, plays cards, drinks beer, watches football, goes to the casino, passes around babies, eats some more, etc, etc. so much fun! hank was a very happy baby too. he loved all the attention and really did well with all the strangers.
Sunday: stopped by to visit college friends that live in des moines (carrie and evan) and then headed home. hank did great in the car both trips!!
well, if you've made it this far, thanks for reading and i hope i didn't bore you too much. ;)
