dinner parties are a little different these days.....

All the parents gathered 'round and marveled at how well they were sitting and how cute it was. ...that lasted 7 minutes and I don't think a whole lot was eaten. ;)
Hank and Avery stayed put the longest but that's probably because they can't get in and out of chairs as easy.
(below) Mason (1 1/2), Hank (14 mo), Audrey (2), and Avery (14 mo - i was actually babysitting her this night) baby Mira slept soundly in her carseat until her mom dished up her own plate of food of course

our house is a tight squeeze for entertaining but we manage!

jacob and kristin are expecting their first baby (a girl!) this november. i hope they weren't too scared by all the crazy toddlers running around!

differences in dinner parties with kids:

-you don't get to enjoy much wine because you're running around after kids

-the night wraps up come 9:00

-you spend half the time replacing stolen sippy cups

-it's hard to have a continuous conversation with out having to grab your kid

-half of the group changes into PJ's before leaving

Thanks for coming over everyone! (and sharing your yummy food potluck style!). I'd be game to do it again!

Manda, you asked me (and you're not the first), when is baby #2 coming? well.....to keep things suspenseful i'll be fairly generic with my answer: not too soon, but not too long. at this point the closest my kids could be together is 2 years, and that seems 'safe', although i'd prefer a little more time. my 3 younger siblings were 2 years apart and that seemed pretty fun growing up so close. my sister and i are close but there were times being 4 years apart that we couldn't relate as well (like when i was in 9th grade and she was in 5th - totally different stages).

yah, that's all i'll say. gonna keep you guessing.

TEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, so, Hank is 15 months now...so if baby #2 is going to be more than two years younger...hhmm....if you're pregnant now, that would make them 24 months apart...Well, I dunno...but maybe you're trying? So, how long do we have to keep guessing!?!

Yeah, they aren't dinner parties anymore- they're play dates! Very cute! If and when you decide to have another- good luck to you! You should have 10, I think :)

I remember feeling like I was somewhat crazy for being pregnant again with Lincoln so "little" but they also grow up so much in the 9 months it takes for that bun to bake in your oven. I'm sure Hank would love a playmate in the house that had two legs instead of 4. Cute dinner party pictures!
